Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at 21 different events.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the final five points to go ahead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a third set.
He rescued four early chances in a close third set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
